The National Population Commission has called on the people of Anambra State to support the commission in its efforts to provide Nigeria with reliable population data through the upcoming census.
The Commissioner representing Anambra State in the National Population Commission, Mr. Chidi Ezeoke, made the call during a two-day workshop on compendium of localities on the 2023 Population Housing Census, organized by the Commission in collaboration with the Anambra State Government in Awka.
Mr. Ezeoke explained that the Compendium of Localities would be presented to President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2023 Population and Housing Census which he said was intended to be an aggregation of stakeholder consensus across the federation and would be placed in the Gazette of Places and Names for the Country.
Sustainable national development
He assured that this would be deliberately relevant as part of the drive for sustainable national development, noting that the Commission is committed to ensuring that everything related to the census is carried out in a professional manner.
