Anchorage Chamber of Commerce: Alaska Rent Relief is accepting applications until Friday, October 1, 2021.

September 24, 2021

The federal government has provided Alaska with funds for emergency rental assistance. We know that when tenants stop paying their mortgages, their landlords suffer. Our program was designed to invite tenants to apply, but homeowners and utility companies receive financial assistance directly. More than 8,000 homeowners, many of them small businesses with duplexes or triplexes, have received assistance from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation totaling more than $ 132 million.

The Wall Street Journal, New York Times and National Public Radio recently published articles on the difficulties governments have in obtaining funds that could prevent evictions of those struggling because of the pandemic. Our program is among the best in the country for its ease of application and quick disbursement of payment. We are currently accepting requests for three months rent and utility assistance. The deadline to apply is Friday October 1, 2021.

If you have any member companies that have had to lay off employees or reduce employee working hours due to the pandemic or those employees have incurred additional expenses, please invite them to verify their eligibility and request rent relief of Alaska. Most applicants verified their eligibility using their mobile phones in less than five minutes, and they applied to the program at www.AlaskaHousingRelief.org. We are also available by phone at 1-844-330-8290 for those who require additional assistance.
